I have been attempting to connect email from google workspace to squarespace website. What a nightmare. And forget about tech support..  Shaun to the rescue. Spent a few minutes trying to explain what was happening. He caught on fast, understood what I wanted and got to work.  I spent 2 weeks, he had it fixed in a day. He has been there for after support while we work the hiccups out.
